American Idol

I sit and watch American Idol and I am amazed at the courage these young people have. They laugh, they cry, they sing, they win - and they lose. And they do it with or without dignity. It is amazing how we can fall in love - or not - with people we have never met.
And it all comes down to entertainment. We love to love these musicinas, we laugh when they fall, we feel their pain when we like them.
Whew! What started out as a TV program ended up being a part of our lives, our family.

Who's in Charge?

The snow fell and caught people off-guard. The East Coast shut down and settled in for a long winter's nap.
Wait!
Can we settle down?
Work, the Olympics, the National Speakers Association Winter Workshop...all of these must go on. Or do they have to?
I was watching the news and I saw the panic on the faces of the Olympic competitors, I spoke to speakers for the NSA Winter Workshop...
Who is in control?
The snow paralyzed this country and affected everyone in this world. Many Olympians are in fear of not getting to Canada...their dreams are not in their control any more...
Who is really in control?
Look up for the answer!

Super Bowl is More than just a Game

The day of the Super Bowl has never been important to me. Or so I thought.Last night I went to my friend Debbie's house and spent the evening with her family and other friends. That's when I got it - really got it!
Super Bowl is abour community, it's about gathering togerher, it's about making memories.
Super Bowl is about a country gathering together and sitting around a TV and laughing, bantering and loving. Super Bowl is a game that brings the values that have built this country back to the forefront.
Super Bowl - so much more than just a game.

It Only Takes One!!

How many friends do you have? How many friends do you want?
When I was growing up I thought it was important to have a large quantity of friends. Now that I am an adult I realize it is the quality of the friends that is important.
When I want to go out in Nashville I have many people I can call on to go downtown to the honky tonks. But when I can't sleep in the night, when anxiety overtakes me, when I need someone to offer a shoulder or to hold my hand, the number of 24-hour friends dwindles.
How many friends do I need? When I am in need of someone to listen and sit with me...it only takes one!
